Copyright Policy

PullVids ("we") respects the intellectual property rights of content creators, rights holders, and copyright owners. We have adopted and implemented this Copyright Policy in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), 17 U.S.C. § 512.

PullVids is designed and intended exclusively for downloading content that users have the legal right to access for personal, offline use - including their own uploads, content with explicit permission from the rights holder, public domain material, and content released under licenses such as Creative Commons that permit downloading.

• PullVids is not a piracy tool and does not condone, encourage, or facilitate copyright infringement in any form.
• PullVids does not host or store any video content on its own servers.
• PullVids responds promptly to all valid copyright complaints in accordance with this policy.

Understanding our technical architecture is important context for this policy:

• When a user submits a YouTube URL, our backend server retrieves a temporary, direct link to the video file hosted on YouTube's own content delivery network (CDN).
• The user's browser then downloads the file directly from YouTube's servers - not from PullVids servers.
• PullVids never stores, caches, indexes, or maintains a library of any video file at any point in this process.
• Because no content is hosted by PullVids, there is no infringing copy stored on our infrastructure to "take down" in the traditional sense - our role is limited to providing a temporary technical pathway, similar to a browser plugin.

Despite this technical distinction, we take copyright concerns seriously and fully cooperate with valid DMCA requests as described below, including disabling access to specific functionality where appropriate.

PullVids operates in accordance with the safe harbor provisions of 17 U.S.C. § 512(c), which protect online service providers from liability for user-related activity provided certain conditions are met. We satisfy these conditions as follows:

• No actual knowledge: We do not have actual knowledge of specific infringing material at the time a video is processed, since we do not pre-screen content.
• No financial benefit: We do not derive direct financial benefit from any specific instance of infringing activity. Our revenue comes solely from general advertising, unrelated to specific content downloaded.
• Expeditious removal: Upon obtaining knowledge of infringement through a valid takedown notice, we act expeditiously to disable access to the relevant functionality.
• Designated agent: We have designated an agent to receive notifications of claimed infringement, as detailed in Section 4 below.
• Repeat infringer policy: We maintain and reasonably enforce a policy for addressing repeat infringers, as detailed in Section 8.

In accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(c), we have designated the following agent to receive notifications of claimed copyright infringement. This agent is also registered with the U.S. Copyright Office DMCA Designated Agent Directory.

Please direct all DMCA notices to the agent above. Notices sent to any other email address or department may experience delays.

If you are a copyright owner, or authorized to act on behalf of one, and believe that content accessible through PullVids infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice to our designated agent. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), a valid notice must include the following elements:

Upon receiving a valid DMCA takedown notice, we follow this process:

We aim to complete this entire process within 48 hours of receiving a complete and valid notice.

If you believe that content was disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). A valid counter-notice must include:

• Your physical or electronic signature.
• Identification of the material that was disabled and its location before it was disabled.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
• Your name, address, and telephone number.
• A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court in your district, or if outside the United States, an appropriate judicial district, and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice.

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complaining party. If that party does not notify us within 10 business days that they have filed a legal action seeking a court order to restrain the activity, we may restore access to the disabled functionality, as required by law.

In accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i), PullVids maintains a policy for addressing repeat infringers. Because PullVids does not require user accounts or logins, this policy operates primarily at the IP address and network level:

• We maintain internal records of IP addresses and connections associated with valid, substantiated copyright complaints.
• Connections repeatedly associated with confirmed infringing activity, as substantiated by valid DMCA notices, may be subject to rate limiting, functionality restrictions, or access blocking at our sole discretion.
• We reserve the right to deny access to the Service entirely for any connection demonstrating a pattern of facilitating copyright infringement.
• Because PullVids does not store accounts, blocking measures are applied technically (e.g., IP-based) rather than through account suspension.

Not all use of copyrighted material constitutes infringement. Certain uses may be protected under the fair use doctrine (17 U.S.C. § 107) in the United States, or equivalent fair dealing provisions in other jurisdictions. Courts typically weigh four factors:

• Purpose and character of use - including whether it is commercial or for nonprofit educational purposes, and whether it is transformative.
• Nature of the copyrighted work - factual works receive less protection than highly creative works.
• Amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the work as a whole.
• Effect on the market for or value of the original copyrighted work.

The following categories of content are generally permitted for download through PullVids, subject always to the user's own legal judgment and responsibility:

• Your own original content uploaded to YouTube
• Content explicitly licensed for download by the rights holder
• Content released under Creative Commons or similar open licenses that permit downloading
• Public domain works with no remaining copyright restriction

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed or disabled by mistake, may be liable for damages - including costs and attorneys' fees - incurred by the alleged infringer, by any copyright owner, or by PullVids as a result of our reliance on the misrepresentation.

We take false or bad-faith claims seriously. Submitting fraudulent takedown notices or counter-notices may result in:

• Rejection of the notice without action
• Permanent blocking of the submitting party from filing future notices through our system
• Referral to legal counsel where warranted

Because PullVids retrieves content directly from YouTube and does not host any video itself, copyright owners may also wish to pursue a takedown directly with YouTube, which is often the most effective remedy since it addresses the content at its source across all access methods, not just PullVids.

Filing with YouTube directly and filing with PullVids are not mutually exclusive - copyright owners are welcome to pursue both avenues simultaneously for the fastest overall resolution.

We may update this Copyright Policy periodically to reflect changes in applicable law, our practices, or our designated agent information. When we make updates, we will revise the "Last updated" date shown at the top of this page.

Your continued use of PullVids after any changes constitutes your acknowledgment and acceptance of those changes.
